Estimation of Specie Thermo-physical Properties as a Function of Temperature

Description:

The tool is designed to estimate the key thermophysical properties like Specific heat (at constant pressure and temperature), Enthalpy, Entropy, Polytropic index etc as a function of temperature at ambient pressure. The specific heat, enthalpy and entropy are estimated on both mole and mass specific basis. The estimation is based on seven coefficient NASA polynomials. To being with, the 53 species for which the coefficients are listed in the GRIMech 3.0 database (available at http://combustion.berkeley.edu/gri-mech/) are included and it is planned to extend the database to additional species. Currently, most of the species have a temperature range of 200 K to 3500 K and the plan is to subsequently extend the upper limit to about 6000 K by introducing new coefficients. The supported species are listed in the following table.

O2 N2 CO2 CH4 H2 CO H2O NO NO2 N2O
O H OH HO2 H2O2 CH C CH2 CH3 HCO
CH2O CH2OH CH3O CH3OH C2H C2H2 C2H3 C2H4 C2H5 C2H6
CH2CO HCCO HCCOH H2CN HCN HNO N NNH NH NH2
NH3 HCNO HOCN HNCO NCO CN HCNN AR C3H8 C3H7
CH3CHO CH2CHO CH2(S)

Features / How to use:

  • Select the specie of interest from the dropdown list (click to see the list of species).
  • On selecting the specie, the corresponding low and high temperature limits are automatically indicated in the limit boxes.
  • Enter temperature (in K) within the upper and lower limits at which the properties are to be estimated.
  • Click submit to view the results. The coefficients used for the analsis are also displayed.
